During the colder months I often find that my lips get dry and it’s not until I go to put on lipstick that I notice how in dire need of moisture and repair they really are.
I’ve started using this lip polish about 2 times a week to gently exfoliate and condition my lips. I simply add it to my nightly cleansing routine and it takes hardly any extra time but really helps my lips feel smooth. I finish off my adding some of this lip balm before I go to bed.
For those who like DIY skin savers here is a great ‘recipe’ for a lip polish to try out.
Do you have a favorite lip balm or dry lip savior?
I love a bold brow. When I was younger my mum used to say how beautiful she thought Brooke Shields eyebrows were and always said that my natural brows were great and to not over pluck them. Couple that with my early love of Audrey Hepburn and it’s safe to say that my love of a strong brow started early and is here to stay!
I really think that a strong brow anchors your face and definitely gives you a younger appearance. I make sure whenever I move countries (which has been a bit over the last few years) I always search for the best person to do my brows the way I like – keeping my brows looking full and with a natural shape. I also get my brows tinted as my natural brow is fair in color and I feel a darker brow works better for me.
Here are some products I like for shading and filling some areas of your brow that may be sparse or will help you to achieve a ‘fuller’ brow look.
Anastasia Brow Powder: I use a brow powder instead of a pencil as I find it gives a more natural finish
Brow Gel: I use this to keep my brows in place, without adding any colour
Eyebrow Brush: I always use a brush to set my brows in place,as I don’t like to have my brows trimmed as some brow specialists like to do.
Tweezers: I like a slanted tweezer, but have learnt over the years to only pluck the obvious stray hairs and to leave the rest to the professionals. Some people are confident in shaping their own brows but through my past over plucking I know to leave it to someone I trust & isn’t ‘tweezer’ happy!
With the colder weather upon us over here in the US, a good hand cream is essential. I have to admit thought that I find the act of putting on my hand cream rather relaxing and probably use them way too often and in vast quantities – well that’s what my husband tells me anyway!
Here is a round up of my favorite hand creams:
Aveda Hand Relief - I love this hand cream, very hydrating, not greasy at all and lasts for ages!
Origins Make A Difference – Rejuvenating Hand Cream - Another favorite of mine, non greasy and smells great
Bliss High Intensity Hand Cream – Leaves your hands slightly greasy but is a great before bed hand cream that hydrates and leaves your hands feeling silky smooth the next day!
La Mer The Hand Treatment – I haven’t tried this one but I really want to, as I’ve heard good things about it. More expensive then the others but is meant to be super hydrating, non greasy and leaves your hands looking and feeling more supple and youthful – I’m all for that!
Lets just say I’m having a bit of a hair crisis. I recently got married last April, so I was letting my hair grow for that, then 2 weeks after the wedding I moved countries (from Amsterdam to SF). To say the least my hair is over due for a revamp, so I’ve been scouring the internet for inspiration. I know I’ve narrowed it down to a bob of some description but am still tossing up as to wether to get a fringe or not. Oh the problems I have … Next up will be narrowing down my list of hair dressers. My husband doesn’t get my painstaking research into all things hair but he has seen first hand the sobs & the ‘I’m never leaving the house again’ proclamations, when I’ve had a hair cut from hell.
Here are some of my hair inspirations…
